Acclaimed designer Dianna Wong has re-imagined the historic Hotel Washington, infusing bright colors and contemporary design while preserving the building’s Beaux Arts architecture, setting the stage for W Hotels’ fully integrated lifestyle experience.
Located on Pennsylvania Avenue, J&G Steakhouse will offer a worldly collection of steakhouse classics for W Washington D.C. guests and local alike. Premium meats and a global selection of fresh fish will be the backbone of the menu, including the highest quality raw items from East and West Coasts, as well as prime cuts of meat char grilled to perfection with side dishes, including vegetables, potatoes and grains/pasta, and sauces. Heading up the kitchen as Chef de Cuisine is the talented Philippe Reininger who re-invents the contemporary cuisine of Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s exquisite signature dishes for J&G Steakhouse.
The dining room at J&G Steakhouse in this historic building has a monumental scale of six-meter ceilings with double height, arched windows and mirrors providing sweeping views of the White House Gardens and the Washington Monument. The Beaux-Arts architecture of the room creates a magnificent backdrop for the sumptuous interiors also designed by Dianna Wong. The ceilings and walls, adorned with murals of cherry blossoms and coins by San Francisco artist Julie Chang, offer interplay between historic restraint and modern sensuality.
The menu at J&G Steakhouse exudes the authenticity of a fine steakhouse and adds the unique experience of worldly travels dominated by a rich palate. To compliment the refined flavors from the menu, J&G Steakhouse and Wine Bar offers a robust wine selection and handcrafted cocktails. Located just below the dining room is the stylish Wine Bar, a cozy tavern setting with slated floors, brick walls and exposed concrete beams evoking that of a wine cellar. A selection of old and new world wines are offered as well as hand crafted cocktails and bottled beers from around the world.
