In designing Fontana Park, the prominent Portuguese architect Francisco Aires Mateus recovered an early 20thcentury building, incorporating historical Lisbon into his modern design view of architecture. The Portuguese designer Nini Andrade Silva created a clean, comfortable interiors using pared-down geometry and a simple palette. The architects took advantage of the original lines of the building, and bet on black and white contrasts to enhance details. Decoration is elegant, in tons of white, black and grey. Contemporary furniture, with simple lines, makes them sober and spacious, without neglecting comfort.
With a total of 137 rooms and 2 suites, all equipped the latest modern facilities and amenities, Fontana Park Hotel is the perfect venue to welcome all type of guests, either those participating in big meetings and events, or simply for people wanting to use this unique property as base to explore the city. Fontana Park has a bar and two restaurants which take advantage of the natural richness of the Portuguese maritime coast. Saldanha Mar is a white space, full of light, with a rich variety of fresh fish and shell fish. Chef Agostinho is responsible for the selection of dishes and is also the executive chef for all restaurant areas within the Hotel. It is open daily for lunch (from 12:00pm to 3:00pm ) and dinner (from 7:30pm to 11:00pm).
The Bonsai Restaurant, home to a bonsai tree more than 100 years old, celebrates Asian gastronomy. It is a dark space, intimistic, bringing Nipponian tastes to the table. Chef Filipe’s sharp knife promises sushi and sashimi on the spot, but Japanese gastronomy has a lot more to be discovered. Open from Tuesday to Sunday for dinner (from 7:30pm to 11:30pm).
